"Hands-On" Experience Days
Ever thought you might like to make something yourself on traditional woodworking machinery? Now's your chance ...

... for you to experience what it is like to have been a woodworker at Gayle Mill in times gone by. You will have the chance not only to work in the atmospheric setting of the Mill but also to use its heritage water-powered machinery and hand tools to create your own unique wooden products, which you will take away with you at the end.
Under the supervision of our tutors – who are all directors of Gayle Mill Trust, and all experts in different aspects of heritage woodworking – you will be guided through and instructed in every stage of the process from raw seasoned timber to finished product. You will also have the chance to enjoy some of the anecdotes and stories about the Mill, its practices and workers.
